Weight Reduction Yields Cost Savings

02 May 2020

Leading the industry and pioneering the concept of cost savings through product design utilizing alternative recyclable materials to create a strength-to-weight ratio unmatched in today’s marketplace.

The materials used in our products are specifically chosen for their strength-maximizing characteristics when combined. Also, due to their material composition, there is no water absorption or added weight gain during wet seasonal months.

Due to weight reduction (traditional plywood pallet vs. Airdex), our customers are able to recognize significant savings in air freight costs for their weight-based loads. Our patented designs allow for similar-like strength (vs. wood) to support the load while reducing pallet weight up to 75%. This translates into an average net savings of $20 to $50 per pallet load.

SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION OF PRODUCT DAMAGE

Our solution has also been known to provide cost savings in the form of a reduction in product damage.  When using wood pallets, product damage often occurs when the pallets break and nails or wood shards penetrate the packaging, corner blocks become damaged (removed) thereby creating structural or functionality failure, or bottom layer product damage due to water absorption. This impacts the transportation of all types of goods, from consumer electronics to fresh produce. The Airdex pallet is extremely durable due to the rigid solid top deck (even weight distribution), with internal and independent lab tests conducted by select customers (as well as real world ‘live’ examples) conclusively showing that even in the event of damage occurring to one or more legs the pallet remains functional with little to no impact to the product.
